How to conquer anxiety – Curing Anxiety

Anxiety is a true monster that deprives you of happiness, strips you of your confidence and diminishes your chances of true success in life.

When you’re anxious you fail to see your great potentials, you’re too scared to show your true self to others and you worry too much about the future.

I can go on and on about how anxiety can ruin your life, but instead I’ll be focusing on how to fight anxiety back and not letting it take control over your life anymore.

Use your “me time” wisely

When you’re all alone, you’re probably overthinking stuff that’s already happened and worrying about what’s gonna happen next.

But how about doing something that can actually help you get rid of your negative thoughts instead.

So bring a piece of paper and a pen, you’ll start by writing down all your fears, then leave that paper for a while.

Now it’s time to start writing down your strengths as a person, don’t overthink, just write down what you feel is true about yourself…because no one knows you better.

Go back to the first paper with your fears in them, read each one of them and think.

Is this fear rational? if it’s not then cross it out.

If it is, then think about the worst case scenario, you might find out that it isn’t as bad as you thought.

If it is bad, then think of a way you can actually solve the problem without running away.

Then, think of what might go right instead of what might go wrong when you find the solution.

If you’re gonna take a risk think about how fruitful it might turn out to be instead of what could go wrong…cause everything has it’s pros and it’s cons, am I right?

Breathe!

Give yourself a break and take a breath!

Don’t hold yourself back from so many things that you forget to live your life, and always remember it’s always better to feel something than feel nothing!

You need to go through many good and bad experiences for you to grow as a person, so don’t prevent that from happening by sitting there too scared of doing anything you’re not used to.

Think from our own perspective

Stop thinking from other people’s perspectives and what they might think.

Why?

Because again these people don’t know who you truly are! you’re the only one who really knows you, you have your reasons and passions!

You are a person of your own and if you don’t defend your propose who will!

If you’re still scared of what people might think, always know that people only see what you show them!

So show them how strong, beautiful and talented you are.

Face your fears

Practice makes perfect, I’ve struggled for so long with generalized anxiety, and I’m telling you it gets better with time as long as you don’t keep running away from what scares you.

I can clearly remember the panic attacks, the crying, the shaking, all of it! but it doesn’t affect me anymore, and it I believe it had to happen for me to become the person I am today.

I’m no longer scared of confrontation, presentations, small talks, meeting new people and going to new places, in-fact I love doing all of those things now.

And if I can do it, then you can do it too!

Seek professional help

I’m not gonna lie, I myself overcame anxiety with the help of a professional, and now i’m living with low anxiety levels.

Therapy sessions can really help you in a lot of aspects of your life not just to overcome your anxiety.
